Beneficiary commends FG’s YouWin initiative

A beneficiary of the Federal Government’s initiative, Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWIN), a business plan competition, designed to help stem the tide of unemployment, Adebayo Olujimi Shomuji, has described the initiative as a catalyst needed for the nation’s economic growth.

Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune in Lagos, on the initiative, Shomuji, who emerged one of the 1,200 winners chosen from the nation’s six geopolitical zones, noted that the project, if sustained, would help the Federal Government in its bid to enable the emergent entrepreneurs to become employers of labour, thereby helping to pull out other young Nigerians from the labour market.

Shomuji, whose business antecedents dated back to June 2007, with the formation of Skylink Agro Allied Enterprises, after the completion of his mandattory youth service programme, stated that his first journey into entrepreneurship was the sale of gari, which he usually transported from his home town in Odeda in Ogun State to Kaduna.
