GOVERNOR Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, his deputy and all elected officials and political appointees have relocated to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja to witness the Supreme Court sitting on a case between the state governor and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) today.

Investigation by the Nigerian Tribune revealed that none of the commissioners, special advisers and assistants to the governor was in office.

It was further learnt that all the 27 local government councils’ chairmen, secretaries, and five selected councillors from each of the local government councils were already in Abuja.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that the state House of Assembly was forced to adjourn its sitting on Thursday following the absence of the majority of the members including the speaker and the deputy speaker, who had also left for the FCT.

A few members of the assembly who were present in the legislative chamber on Thursday quickly returned to their cars and left the premises for unknown destinations possibly to joint the other members in Abuja.

A Government House source told the Nigerian Tribune in Dutse that “it is a directive to all elected officials and government appointees, including members of the National Assembly from the state.”

Going round the state secretariat, it was observed that only junior cadre officers were in the offices.
